Vice Mayor Pablito V. Sanidad Sr., Municipality of Narvacan, Ilocos Sur

This coffee table book tells the rich history and heritage of Narvacan, a town in Ilocos Sur, Philippines. Illustrated with over 200 beautiful images including aerial photographs and artifacts from personal archives.

The book’s framework interweaves the town’s folklore origins, its freedom from imperialist and colonial rule, Vice Mayor Pablito V. Sanidad Sr.’s personal compendium of materials about the town, and its cultural and ethnic roots.

For the book cover, I illustrated “Immagamang,” a distinctive rock formation and a natural Narvacan landmark.
I chose a sand emboss effect on the book title text and spine to represent the feel of Narvacan’s rocky shores.
